Graphic Design

Year 3, 4, 5, 6

Students learn about how an Olympic logo is developed and the role of a graphic designer in the branding process. Students learn about how a logo is made and produce a logo of their own for the 2050 Olympics.

Interior Design

Aligned to Arts, Design and Technologies stage 2 and 3 curriculum.

Year 3, 4, 5, 6

Students learn about the role of an interior designer and the effect interior design has on a space. Students learn about different colours that represent different moods, emotions and feelings. Students play a digital memory card game to match the name of the room with the correct aesthetic. Students learn about the interior differences found in houses. Students watch a video of an interior designer and complete a scavenger hunt.

Data

Aligned to Science and HASS Economics and Business stage 3 curriculum.

Year 5, 6

Students learn about the importance of data and what a company like Netflix will use data for. Students learn about how data is represented by participating in a digital match game, matching graphs with the name of the graph. Students attempt to collect some data of their own.

That’s Debatable

Aligned to English stage 2 and 3 curriculum.

Year 3, 4, 5, 6

Students learn about the rules and structures of debating and where debating might be used in day-to-day life by watching a video with a law student. Students click on icons to hear example arguments. Students are then to prepare, structure and participate in a debate of their own.

Journalism

Students learn about the role of a journalist and how to analyse a good piece of journalism. Students read a digital magazine with real and fake headlines and are to differentiate them. Students learn about becoming a discerning digital citizen and how to spot clickbait. Students are to create a clickbait headline of their own. Find part two of this task in the Journalism 2 module.

Hospitality

Students learn about the different roles within hospitality by navigating around an interactive 360 image of a cafe. Students listen to incoming phone calls to learn how to process important information as a front of house worker and make adjustments to their booking form.

Allied Health

Students are introduced to different careers in Allied Health and the roles carried in the different jobs by navigating their way around an interactive map of the human body. Students learn about the different parts of the body allied health workers specify in.Students participate in a memory match game to test what they have learned in the module, followed by a video where they are introduced to a range of allied health workers and complete a scavenger hunt.

Digital Design

Students explore different functions of technology. Students will gain an understanding of what a career in digital design may look like.

Students are to critically analyse and determine the difference between different types of UX functions for apps and websites by participating in a spot the difference game and will create own home screen for a website.
